As an undergraduate at the University of Southern California, Jared Kawalsky earned recognition as a presidential scholar, an AP scholar with distinction, and a national merit finalist. He earned his bachelor of arts in English and critical studies with cum laude distinction before embarking on a media career with organizations such as the Dallas Morning News and the Public Broadcasting Service. Jared Kawalsky returned to the academic environment several years later to obtain his juris doctor from the University of Chicago Law School, where he won the Thomas R. Mulroy Prize for Excellence in Appellate Advocacy and Oral Argument in the Hinton Moot Court Competition.
After graduating with his law degree, Jared Kawalsky clerked in Perth Australia, serving tenures with the University of Western Australia Legal Office and the law firm of Karp Steedman Ross-Adjie. Relocating to Dallas, Texas, he subsequently practiced business law with the law firm of Baker & McKenzie and directed business development for Surgical Development Partners. He established the multifaceted Kawalsky Law Firm in Los Angeles in 2015 and undertook studies toward his master of laws in taxation in 2017.
